What's in your Birchbox????

Do you love samples? Do you like opening presents? Do you get excited just knowing there is a package on its way in the mail (I know I do!)? Do you love high end makeup and skincare? If you answered "yes" to all those questions, then signing up for Birchbox.com just might just be right for you!

Here's the scoop:

Birchbox is a "members-only" website where you can buy specific brands of high-end cosmetics and skincare. For $10 a month you get access to the website (tips, tricks, tutorials, etc), online shopping (with *free* shipping), points accumulation from purchases that can go towards free products/or as discount (similar to the Sephora Beauty Insider points), and (best of all) a monthly package (beautifully wrapped in a pink box) with 4-5 delux (large size, not the foil package kind, but the mini-bottle type) samples. What really convinced me to sign up: On the website, you can fill out a beauty profile. This way Birchbox can match your samples to your specific coloring, interests, and skin/hair type, types of products you like to splurge on, etc. So, your samples will be "personalized". Cool! Points can be accumulated by answering surveys, purchases, and referrals (not sure exactly how this works just yet, but will let ya'll know more specifics in the future!). The custom samples plus free shipping on orders really "sold" me!

I love trying new products and testing and reviewing (lol, can ya'll tell)!!! I also think this is an interesting and fun way for anyone wanting to branch out with their beauty routine to try out some new items (and get free shipping!). Plus, who doesn't like getting a "present" in the mail every month. :)

You open the Birchbox giftbox to reveal a Birchbox card with a note about the package's theme on the front and product descriptions on the back. Cute concept! I like the idea that the boxes have a "theme"! I really hadn't realized that they organized the boxes in that manner. So, cool!!! The card is lying on top of the products that are nicely wrapped within coordinating burgundy tissue paper.

Opening the box and the tissue gives you a waft of a lovely herbal-like scent which hints of the treats inside.

Overall, I am really pleased with this month’s Birchbox!!! Especially my DDF pore serum. It is already my favorite product I have been using, but this month to welcome me I am offered 20% off my first order~ SCORE! Another great Birchbox bonus: If you test and review the products you receive in your box on Birchbox.com, you earn extra loyalty points!

If you haven't had a chance to check out Birchbox for yourself, check them out here at Birchbox.com. It's just $10 per month or $100/year to join and get your own monthly samples box (and all the other benefits of being a member). You fill out an online profile and they will tailor your Birchbox samples to your specific profile and product preferences.

I am thrilled with this month's box and can already tell that this Birchbox membership is worth it! I can't wait to use and test out these products...and can't wait to see what next month's Birchbox will bring!

Luggage Reinvented

When you are traveling with children, I am assuming the biggest challenge is balancing carry-ons, strollers and babies. Going through security with the stroller, unfolding, refolding and then gathering up all of your things before heading on the plane is even more of a challenge when you are traveling solo!

The creative geniuses at Catiglione Morelli designed a really interesting stroller concept with family travel in mind. This creative option includes a specialized compartment that is attached to the luggage. This accessory folds out into a child seat allowing you to pull your baby and your luggage at the same time.

The only catch with this brilliant invention – it isn’t available as of yet. No word as to when or if they are planning on officially launching the luggage, but it is a pretty cool idea nonetheless! I am patiently awaiting this product:)

Numbfounded

Almost as terrifying as my upcoming labor,
It’s the Brazilian bikini wax!

Despite the dread and anxiety, many of us endure this torture every few weeks (“it’s that time of the month” now has two meanings). And although we believe that the smooth results are worth the hurt, we’ve been constantly searching for ways to relieve this painful process. I haven't been back since Oct, because it was extraordinarily more painful than usual(due to pregnancy hormones I didn't know I had). I, however can no longer see or reach the down under so I had to grin & bear it and make the appointment! So I frantically searched for something to make it tolerable.

Well, say goodbye to the pain and hello to the Bare Ease “ouchless” bikini waxing kit! This long-awaited numbing kit was created by anesthesiologist, Dr. Edna Ma and uses 4% lidocaine cream to numb your nether regions during a trip to the wax-itician. This numbing cream is actually used in hospitals worldwide to numb areas of skin for laser procedures and administering shots. Some tattoo parlors even use this numbing goop to ease the pain from having a needle jabbed into your skin thousands of times.

Here’s how it works: Each kit comes with a single-use tube of numbing solution that you are instructed to apply over your desired waxing area at least 30 minutes before the dreaded waxing experience. Next, put on the pink panties, which are included, that help protect your clothing when you are en route to the waxing parlor. These disposable skivvies also help the numbing cream stay in the designated area.

The numbing effect only lasts 30 minutes to an hour, so make sure you don’t apply the anesthetic until you are prepared and ready to get your business waxed. You can get this pain-saving kit for $25 at the Bare Ease website. Although this numbing creation may up your bikini wax budget, it is truly worth the moolah to prevent your private area from experiencing that kind of pain. It works. It's not ouchless, but definitly do-able!

MAJOR OBSESSION ALERT!~ A Wild one!!

I bought a bar of this at my Prenatal appointment, it smelled good enough and I loved that it was all natural and safe for my skin and baby inside. These soaps are so cool! They are 100% natural, totally wild and wonderful, and produced by a fabulous small green business, owned by Maggie Hanus and her son, who cleverly refer to themselves as "soap bartenders". Located near Austin, Texas, A Wild Soap Bar uses lots of plants and herbs native to Texas, like yucca, for refreshingly different soap products. So what is wrong with your typical soap? Soaps often contain DEA (diethonolamine), as do many shampoos, detergents and surfactants.

Key ingredients are saponified cold pressed olive oil, saponified coconut oil, distilled water, saponified organic palm oil, saponified castor oil, organic aloe, essential oils, earth clays, wildflowers and numerous other botanicals, sea salt, ultramarines, iron oxides

Words cannot express how truly wonderful these soaps are! I now realize that I spent most of my life using the "fast-food" version of soap. These soaps are just wild, with beautiful earthy colors, invigorating textures that often include bits of herbs and grains, and the most heavenly and exotic aromas I've ever encountered in soaps ( Bluebonnet, Prickly Pear, Cedarwood, Wildflower, Sunflower, Mesquite, Yucca Root, and Horsemint).

Additionally, they do not dry your skin out at all, but rather leave it feeling soft, silky, moisturized, and smelling heavenly for hours! I can often identify which soap my husband used after he gets out of the shower, because the pleasant aroma just emanates from his skin.

I am not sure I will ever use another soap that is not made by A Wild Soap Bar- that is how much I am loving these soaps! If you are ready for an invigorating, uplifting, and exotic bathing experience, then you have to try these soaps! The best part is they have an odds and ends lot that is unmarked(but who cares? It's all amazing)and includes four bars & for a limited time, you buy one get one free..

Yep, I still have an obsession with shoes and have been rocking heels throughout my pregnancy. I know I have told you about Shoedazzle, and I still am a member of that site. I have recently discovered a little more upscale version. Just $10 more a month, classier shoes, same concept.

If you subscribe to HauteLook, you may have gotten an invitation to join Sole Society.
Details from the website:

After you make your first purchase, you officially become a member of Sole Society. Once a member, there is no obligation to purchase each month. If you are not in the mood, simply visit your closet by the fifth day the month and select the “Let’s Skip This Month” and you won’t be charged the monthly membership fee. There is no limit to the number of months you can skip. If you choose to skip the month, and change your mind, you can still visit your closet and purchase as many shoes as you would like. Please note that you cannot skip a month by phone or email. If you do not purchase or skip by the 5th of the month, you will receive a membership charge to your credit card and a membership credit in your Sole Society account for $49.95 on the 6th of the month.
